Internships provide an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during your studies, develop professional skills and gain experience in the workplace. They are divided into curricular and extracurricular internships.
Curricular internships
Curricular internships take place during your studies, either in Italy or abroad. Only curricular internships are eligible for recognition towards your degree in the form of university credits (ECTS).
Under the Degree Programme’s policy, 3 ECTS may be awarded for internships relevant to the subjects taught within the degree class. A higher number of credits may only be awarded for internships undertaken with host organisations that have a specific agreement with the Degree Programme and participate in the Internship Days programme.
This policy was adopted by the Teaching Committee in November 2023 in response to student requests, to ensure the quality and consistency of learning experiences when a substantial proportion of credits is earned through external activities.
For general information, procedures for arranging internships in Italy and abroad, and the safety training course, please visit the School of Economics and Management’s Internships page. Before arranging an internship worth more than 3 ECTS, you must also consult the Internship Days page.
Extracurricular internships
Extracurricular, or non-curricular, internships are training opportunities for recent graduates, designed to support career orientation and entry into the labour market. They do not count towards university credits (CFU) within the Degree Programme.
For information on eligibility requirements, procedures for arranging internships and the relevant administrative offices, please visit the School of Economics and Management’s Non-curricular Internships page.
